John represents the UK on various International and European committees, eg: non-sewered sanitation, Service activities relating to drinking water supply, wastewater and stormwater systems, above ground drainage, water reuse systems, wastewater treatment plants, gullies and air admittance valves.
John has also managed European projects on heat recovery systems, solar panel location and ecological plastic pipes and developed patented designs for waterless urinals and high efficiency WC flushing cisterns.
He is a contributor to the development of the European Directive on water efficiency, independent assessor of BREEAM projects, Secretary of the Hertfordshire Branch of the CIPHE and Honorary fellow of the Society of Public Health Engineers.
